Eagle Project

Image
For my Eagle Scout Project, I am building garden beds for a non-profit foundation called Saranam.  Saranam runs a program that houses homeless families and helps teach them self-reliance skills and enrolls them in college courses to help them better their circumstances.  Part of those self-reliance skills involve gardening and I am building them garden beds.  Each apartment unit will have their own small garden bed, along with a few larger community garden beds.   I engineered the garden beds using a CAD software: I have built a prototype of one small garden bed to see how it will fit their needs.  It was requested to be tall enough that little kids couldn't get in and ruin the plants.    I plan on having more people help build garden beds on Saturday, April 9, 2022 to finish up the work.

Garden 2021

Image
In 2021 my dad helped me set up a raspberry pi camera that I used to take a picture of my garden growing every hour (during the day) for 2-3 months.  I then put the picture together into a time-lapse video where you can see my garden growing during the summer of 2021.

I Love to Garden

Hi!  My name is Nathan and I love to Garden.  In this blog you will see some projects that I have or am currently working on with gardening.  Even my 16th birthday cake was a garden!       If you live in the Albuquerque area and want to get started gardening, Osuna Nursery is a good resource.  They have a lot of plants and have helpful people.    https://osunanursery.com/
